July 16, 17 2010 Cook-off General Information

The 3rd Annual Que and Cruz Cook-off will be held at Small Country Campground www.smallcountry.com July 17th 2010.

So you think you can cook good Barbeque? Come and compete against other BBQ enthusiasts. This contest is sanctioned by KCBS competing in Pork Ribs, Chicken, Pork Shoulder or Boston Butt and Beef Brisket.

Security will be provided at the site on Friday night, so those teams wishing to set up on Thursday night do so at your own risk. If you will be arriving on Thursday night, we ask that you call the Campground at 540/967-2431 to let us know so that we can meet you and show you your site location.

There will be a maximum of 2 cars allowed per site – others will have to be parked off the cooking area. You will be provided with 1 15amp GFI outlet. You need to bring your own drop cord – a maximum of 150 feet will be enough for your needs. Water hookups will be provided. At most you will need 150 feet of garden hose. (Bring and extra “Y” in case your neighbor forgets one)

The Cooks meeting will be held at 5 PM Friday Night July 16th. Anything butt judging will be onsite starting at 8pm on Friday. The BBQ Contest judging will start at 12pm on Saturday, July 17th beginning with chicken.

From Richmond/Charlottesville - Take I-64 to Exit 143 (Rt.208 Louisa). Go North 2.5 miles and turn Left on Rt.640. Go 150 yards and turn Right on Rt.649. Go 2 miles and bear left on Rt. 649. Continue 2 more miles to Small Country on the right.

From Winchester/Washington, D.C. - Take I-66 to the Gainesville Exit, Rt. 29 South, bypass around Warrenton to Culpepper. At Culpepper take Rt. 15 South to Orange and further to Gordonsville. Go thru Gordonsville and turn left on Rt.33. At the STOP sign turn left and then immediately right onto RT. 613. Left again in 300 yards on Rt. 649 and 2 miles to Small Country on your left.

Remember this is a campground so bring your trailers/tents and reserve a site. Cabin Rentals are limited so call early. Call 540/967-2431 for camping reservations and Rates
